Hospitality Management Studies
I pursued studies for the ICM Diploma in Hospitality Management at Amboseli Institute of Hospitality and Technology, where I gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that prepared me for my career in the hospitality industry.
Throughout my studies, I participated in industrial attachments at leading hospitality establishments like Radisson Hotel Group and the Hilton Group of Hotels where I developed competencies in food production, customer service, teamwork, professionalism, and workplace ethics. The training and mentorship I received at Amboseli Institute helped shape my passion for culinary arts and strengthened my commitment to excellence in service delivery.
Current Role
I am currently working as a Commis Chef at Kwetu Curio collection by Hilton where I am involved in food preparation, maintaining food quality standards, ensuring hygiene and safety compliance, and supporting kitchen operations. In this role, I continue to apply the knowledge, skills, and values acquired during my training at Amboseli Institute.

Gambia
Sampierre Mendy

I obtained the ICM Post Graduate Diploma in Management in 2014. Delivered by the Management Development Institute (The Gambia), this qualification enhanced my knowledge and practical skills in key business management areas including strategic management and change management, and improved my effectiveness as a management consultant during my time at Emanic Consulting Co. Ltd (The Gambia). Furthermore, the qualification enabled me to pursue an MBA programme at the University of Northampton (UK) and eventually a PhD in Strategy and Public Leadership at The Open University Business School (UK).
These qualifications paved the way for my current roles as Lecturer in Business Management and Associate Lecturer in Strategic Management in two reputable universities in the UK. These achievements, plus my additional duties as Module Director in Leadership and Strategy, Deputy Module Director in Business Consultancy Project and academic publications including in the top-ranking journal, Public Administration Review, have enabled me to contribute significantly to the UK higher education sector and the business management field more broadly. I am currently a Fellow of Advance Higher Education, the UK’s premier higher education professional body.
I intend to further enhance my career in higher education and management consulting through increased academic publications and consultancy work. Further areas of interest include promoting inclusive education through mentoring and sharing higher education sponsorship opportunities with people from less privileged backgrounds.

Myanmar
Min Ko Ko Zaw

I started my career in 2015 working on a community development project in Mandalay, where I learned the value of clear communication and fair treatment of people. From there, I moved into logistics starting as an IT Specialist and Warehouse Coordinator, then growing into Operations Supervisor and Assistant Manager (Transport) at Nordic Group Limited. Over nearly seven years there, I managed end-to-end trucking operations, cross-border transport, fleet coordination, and vendor negotiations. I implemented SOPs that reduced operational risks and improved delivery efficiency. In 2025, I moved into freight forwarding sales, and later became Business Development Manager. Today, I am CEO of Vital Link International Logistics in Yangon. Along the way, I earned my Single Subject Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from ICM in 2023, and a Postgraduate Diploma from Nanyang Institute of Management in 2025. ICM gave me the strategic foundation to match my hands-on experience. My advice to current students "Don't underestimate hands-on experience. Every difficult shipment and every customer complaint teaches you something a textbook can't. Combine that with formal learning, and you'll be ready to lead."
