The Role
The Marketing and IT Project Manager will be responsible for driving ICM’s growth through a results-driven marketing and sales strategy, the implementation of a new enhanced bespoke IT system and the ongoing development of our global membership offering. This dual-role position requires an individual who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution and who thrives in a performance-based environment. You will lead initiatives that elevate ICM’s visibility, grow our student and professional membership base and ensure our systems and digital infrastructure support our long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Membership Growth
- Lead and execute the ICM Marketing & Sales Growth Strategy (2024–2026) to increase awareness of ICM and grow its global student and professional membership base.
- Develop and promote ICM’s membership offering, ensuring relevance, value and global appeal.
- Create targeted campaigns to engage institutions, students and professionals with a focus on acquisition and retention in new and existing markets. Lead on the development and refinement of ICM’s brand identity, ensuring a strong and consistent message across all social media channels.
- Build and manage relationships with educational partners and training providers to expand market reach.
- Manage the end-to-end sales funnel for memberships, from lead generation to conversion, with clear accountability for membership revenue targets.
IT and Digital Infrastructure
- Lead the design, development and implementation of a new enhanced bespoke IT system to support internal operations, membership services and learner management.
- Ensure that digital platforms are secure, efficient, user-friendly and scalable.
- Oversee development and integration of CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Content Management System (CMS) and online membership services to improve automation, data accuracy and customer experience.
- Manage third-party developers and suppliers to deliver high-quality, value-for-money digital solutions.
- Ensure GDPR compliance and best practice in data management and cyber security.
Data Management and Collaboration
- Work closely with senior management to align marketing, IT and organisational objectives.
- Report regularly to the management team on sales performance, system development progress and strategic impact.
- Responsible for collating, analysing and presenting key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to senior management, ensuring data-driven insights inform strategic decision- making and risk mitigation.
- In this pivotal customer-facing role, you will build and maintain strategic relationships with ICM’s Centres, members, and stakeholders ensuring needs are proactively addressed.
- Work collaboratively with external consultants and agencies.
- Lead research and data collection initiatives, primarily through webinars, surveys and feedback analysis to generate actionable insights on customer satisfaction and market trends.
- Use research insights to inform strategic decisions and champion the voice of the customer to drive continuous organisational improvement.
Targets and Performance
- Achieve quarterly and annual membership sales targets (students and professionals) informing KPIs and KRIs.
- Increase digital engagement and conversion through website, email and social media channels.
- Successfully launch and operationalise the new enhanced bespoke IT system within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Demonstrate clear ROI across campaigns, system investment and process improvements as detailed in the ICM Marketing & Sales Growth Strategy (2024–2026).
Characteristics
Essential:
- Educated to degree level (BSC/MSC) in any relevant field.
- Advanced technical design, implementation and administration experience using Database
- Management Systems, Windows based applications, Moodle, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services.
- Proven track record in an IT, marketing or commercial role, within education or membership.
- Strong experience in membership sales and marketing, with demonstrable results.
- Hands-on experience leading IT or digital transformation projects.
- Strategic thinker with strong project management and delivery skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commercially driven with a strong understanding of marketing metrics and performance reporting.
- Comfortable working to sales targets and managing a busy, performance-oriented workload.
Desirable:
- Evidence of continual professional development in the workplace.
- Experience using Awarding Organisations (AO) specific systems
- Experience in an Awarding Organisation or professional body.
- Experience launching or scaling global membership schemes.
- Experience managing CRM, CMS and LMS platforms.
- Knowledge of the education and training sector (domestic and international).
- Familiarity with data protection laws and compliance (e.g. GDPR).
- Ability to build partnerships with education and corporate institutions.
- Relevant marketing or IT qualifications (e.g. CIM, PMP, Agile).
