Social Development Theories and Practice aims to equip Learners with an understanding of the foundational concepts, roles and responsibilities of social workers, including the ethical frameworks that guide professional practice. Learners explore the importance of social service management programmes, the historical development of social work as a profession and the emerging trends shaping contemporary social work practice in diverse global contexts.
The unit prepares Learners to recognise the contribution of social work to societal wellbeing, protection and development.
This unit forms part of the Community Development and Social Change Qualification.
Example Candidate Response Booklet
Example Candidate Response (ECR) Booklets are a source of crucial information for Centres and Candidates as they use real candidate responses. We ask Senior Examiners to comment on five or more responses in terms of why the mark was awarded with commentary about how to improve the answer (if necessary).
