Monitoring and Evaluation of Social Research Projects

ICM Professional Diploma Unit

Monitoring and Evaluation of Social Research Projects aims to equip Learners with the foundational knowledge and skills required to plan and undertake social research activities as part of community development work with a specific focus on monitoring and evaluation.

The unit introduces the relevance of projects to community development, the monitoring and evaluation of development activities and the research methods used to investigate social issues. Learners will explore qualitative and quantitative approaches, sampling techniques, data collection methods and the steps involved in developing a research proposal. Upon completion, Learners will understand how research supports informed decision-making and contributes to effective monitoring and evaluation of social research projects.

This unit forms part of the Community Development and Social Change Qualification.
